UNITE partnership with Patrick Henry Elementary School
UNITE is very interested in partnering with Henry Elementary School and is looking for volunteers who can help build this relationship.  We will work to provide community support for their various year-round programs.  If you are interested in being a part of this effort please contact Adam - adamcohen44@yahoo.com
Community Education Information
UNITE is looking to its member families for input on the ways and types of information it can bring to you pertaining education.  We are in the early stages of planning an Options for Education evening presentation in the fall.  In October 2008 a representative from the Chicago Public Schools led an interactive and informative discussion on navigating through the process of applying to schools within the city.

Is this type of event one that our community is interested in?  Are there specific pieces of information that would be beneficial to be posted on UNITE's web site?  Please let us know.
Rep. Mell Announces Community Advisory Panels to Address Top Concerns
State Representative Deborah Mell (D-Chicago) announced that she will create nine Community Advisory Panels to allow members of the community to voice their concerns on issues relevant to the District.  Findings from the panels will inform the Representative's legislative agenda and determine the direction of her continued community outreach.

The panels, which are open to all residents of the 40th District, will meet at Rep. Mell's Constituent Service Office, located at 3657 N. Kedzie Avenue.  Interested members of the community are not required to be subject matter professionals to join an advisory panel.  If interested in attending a meeting RSVP to leah@debmell.org or 773-267-2880 at least one week before each meeting date.  There is no limit to the number of panels a community member may join.

For more information on Rep. Mell's Education initiatives please visit her
website.
