YOUTH CLASSES
Young Children:
Unibabes Nursery:
Our Nursery has a special learning experience awating for our infants and tots.  Our Child-care Coordinator, Lily Berkley, along with our dedicated, loving staff welcomes and cares for your babies and toddlers in a bright, cheerful, fully-equipped nursery.  Children enjoy free play, music, games and lots of individual attention and love.

For the safety and security of our children, we offer vibrating pagers to parents of infants, or children who may have trouble separating, so that we may contact the parent's, if needed.  We also have a check-in & out routine that allows our nursery workers to ensure things go smoothly.  We ask that the same adult drop off and pick up the children.

The Unibabes Nursery is located on the Lower Level by taking the elevator to 1R.
We are open during the following hours of operation:

8:15 a.m. - 9:45a.m.
Children ages newborn through 5 years of age are welcomed while their parents attend first service.

10:15 a.m. - 11:45a.m.
Children ages newborn through 30 months are welcomed while their parents attend second service.
Uni-Tots: Ages 30 months to 3 yrs old (age as of August, 2004)
The Unitots Class, located in our Youth & Family Ministry Area, provides an opportunity where little ones can learn about God through sharing with others in hands-on lessons. The stories and activities are planned with their attention span in mind. Children learn through doing and repetition at learning stations.

Our Volunteer Teaching Team primarily comprises of  parents who volunteer one to two times a month in this class.  Parents are encouraged to assist in the classroom.  For the safety and security of the children we ask that the same adult drop off and pick up the children.

Parents are asked to not drop off the children prior to 10:15 when class begins and to PROMPTLY pick the children up when service ends.
Elementary Children:
The following two classes are located in the Youth & Family Ministry Area. Children attend their class for the entire service.  Classtime consitst of stories, snack, Bible scripture, affirmation, offering, prayer, Object Lessons, age-appropriate discussion, meditation, and creative expression that goes along with the lesson. Meeting new friends, a feeling of belonging, and having fun are important here.

\There is a monthly Parenting Page for families to share.  The Parenting Page gives updates on the many activities we do within the Youth Program as well as ways for parents to continue the weekly lessons at home.

For the safety and security of the children we ask that the same adult drop off and pick up the children.  Please do not drop off the children prior to 10:15 as that is when classes begin, and PROMPTLY pick them up when service ends.

Uni-Tikes:  Grades Pre-K, Kindergarten & 1st
Children are naturally inquisitive and want to learn. They will often make a craft to take home that reminds them of the lesson theme. Ask your child to share this with you. Your interest means a lot to them.

Uni-Kids:  Grades 2nd – 5th
The use of crafts, hands-on projects, art , drama and classroom discussion begins to explore the ways in which each child can incorporate the spiritual principles they learn into their daily lives at home and at school.
Teens:
An energetic, enthusiastic and loving team of sponsors is present to greet and engage the attention of your teens.

Our teen classes begin at 10:30 on sunday morning.  We do not require parents to drop off or pick up these older kids, but we do ask that parents do not allow their children to go to class prior to 10:30 as we can not ensure that an adult will be in the classroom or the safety of unsupervised children.

The teen classes are located on the lower level of the church and kids may go to and from their class by way of the front stairs located in the Narthex, or the elevator.  We ask that these older kids (teens) not come into the Youth Area as we are caring for many young children.

Both groups participate in many age-appropriate activities, such as camp-outs, bowling, movies, pizza parties, lock-ins, rallies, etc...  The groups also host a few fund-raisers throughout the year to help off-set the cost of these activities.

Uniteens: Grades 6th to 8th & Youth of Unity (Y.O.U.): Grades 9th to 12th
Teens present a safe, comfortable, non-academic format of discussion and fellowship for our teen group. The material presented is intended to bring out the students' spirituality and a healthy ideology while increasing their self-confidence, creativity and self-esteem. Social activities and community service activities are also being planned to further fellowship in a safe environment.
