He also has a quiet side, enjoying walks in the garden. When at home, Gabe will take a mystery out to one of the many gardens and sit in a quiet arbor and read and be quite content. His favorite ancient book is "Ivanhoe" followed closely by the Miss Marple series
Dislikes: Gabe dislikes women who act like they can't do anything. Having two sisters, he knows better. He also dislikes big, hairy looking spiders and he'd rather not spend a lot of time in caves. Unfortunately, his missions seem to keep taking him to caves.

Gabe was born in one of the family's castles and spent his early years enjoying a wonderfuly family life with a lovely if exotic mother and a handsome, knightly father. He and his siblings have always been close. They played together when children and continue to keep in contact. Gabe's brother is the heir to the family's title and estates. Although Gabe was trained to take over if something happened to his brother, he didn't have the burden of that responsibility and was able to choose his own career. He decided to apply for Starfleet Academy and was accepted. His first day at the academy brought him face to face with a huge, yelling marine sergeant and that's all it took for Gabe to want to be a marine - so he could be bigger, taller and yell louder than the sergeant.
Gabe has a natural talent for rescuing damsels in distress and a real love of people, which made search and rescue an important part of his marine career. His life has been all career except for his family at home. Although he has always felt he would marry some day, his constant moving around has stopped him from making any type of permanent commitment. Only recently he decided if he waits too long, he'll be the dumbest marine around.
Gabe also has a tendency to stand at perfect attention, salute perfectly and to say "Sir" as every other word. He jokingly says it's a marine thing.
There's one other small ability to Gabe. He has inherited his mother's skill or sixth sense. He doesn't particularly like it and says it makes him nervous. Most of the time it just settles down to be a nagging feeling he shouldn't do something or should do something. Sometimes it's been known to take on stranger characteristics. Even if he doesn't like it, he listens to it. It's usually not wrong.
He has grown to be a kind, thoughtful, dedicated, duty conscious, trained killer with perfectly pressed dress uniforms, or so he writes home.
