DIRECTIONS FOR ASSEMBLY NOTE: (1) All assembly requires drilling of pilot holes before; (A) Applying adhesive; and (B) then inserting screws. (2) All screw heads must be sunk flush with plywood and any exposed points should be ground or cut flush. |
1. Attach all CLEATS (represented in assembly diagram by black rectangles) to FRONT and SIDES making sure each end of CLEAT is 2 inches in from edge and that side of CLEAT is flush with outside edge of FRONT/SIDES. Use adhesive and two 1.5 inch screws, (screwing from FRONT/SIDES into CLEAT) one inch each side of center of CLEAT. 2. Attach stops to TOP and BOTTOM (as shown in assembly diagram) 2.5 inch in from front edge using adhesive and four evenly spaced 1.5 inch screws. (Screwing from STOP into TOP/BOTTOM.) 3. “Dry Fit”( Without screws or adhesive) TOP/BOTTOM/ISIDES/FRONT to create a box so that: (A) Outside surface of SIDES are flush with outside edges of TOP/BOTTOM, and rear edges of SIDES are flush with rear edges of TOP/BOTTOM; and (B) Side edges of FRONT are flush with side edges of TOP/BOTTOM If all specified items will not fit flush as specified adjust as necessary. |
4. For final assembly in the order set forth below, the following procedures should be followed: A.) Assemble FRONT to SIDES on a flat surface making sure outside surface of SIDES are flush with outside edges of FRONT, and that top and bottom edges of SIDES and FRONT are level. B.) Drill two pilot holes from FRONT into vertical CLEAT on each side, each hole 2.5 inches from center of CLEAT; apply adhesive to FRONT and Sides where FRONT meets vertical CLEATS and front edge of SIDES and attach FRONT to SIDES using 1.5 inch screws in each of the four holes. C.) Turn FRONT/SIDE assembly on it’s side and attach BOTTOM by first drilling two pilot holes from BOTTOM into each of the three CLEATS, (one CLEAT on each SIDE and one on the FRONT) each of the two holes 2.5 inches from center of the CLEAT. Apply adhesive to SIDES/FRONT where edges and CLEATS will meet the BOTTOM; attach BOTTOM to FRONT/SIDES using the 1.5 inch screws. (Edges and surfaces to be flush as set forth in step #3. D.) Attach TOP to FRONT/SIDES using the same format specified in Step C above. |
Attach each handle to TOP two inches in from each side edgeof TOP so front mounting screws of handles are positioned behind FRONT of boardholder. 6. Attach two eye screws five inches in from front edge of TOP(each one inch in from either side edge of TOP), and two eye screws five inches in from front edge of BOTTOM (each one inch in from either side edge of BOTTOM) so they extend into, but not through STOPS. 7. Let adhesive dry in accordance with package directions. |
TESTING PROCEDURE A. Make sure back of BOARDHOLDER is always placed against a solid/stable wall, or other support. B. Try BOARDHOLDER with one, Then two, then three, then four or more boards. Securing boards in placeby using the bungee cords, one from each top eye screw to each bottom eye screw. C. IF TOP and BOTTOM spread allowing unbroken boards to be pushed past STOPS without breaking, apply the 6 inch wide by 24 inch long 3/4 inch plywood STIFFENER to outside surface of TOP and BOTTOM using 1.5 inch |
