Well, first off, I'm Carolyn. Hi. I was born and raised in Wisconsin. I even went to the University of Wisconsin-Madison for my undergraduate degree. I recently finished studying for my Master's degree in Dunedin, New Zealand. I came here to the University of Otago to study Marine Science. A much better place than Wisconsin, as there are no oceans around Wisconsin. My thesis work will took one year (2003). I'm going to be investigating the effects of low salinity (diluted seawater) on sea urchin larvae (babies). I'll be looking at larval behavior to low salinity as well as direct effects of low salnity on growth and survival. I will also be looking at natural distributions of larvae in Doubtful Sound, on the West Coast of the South Island.
