Welcome to this website which is about the city of Valley View.  I hope you will find it to be interesting and informative.

In days gone by it was common for friends and family to gather and share their thoughts of weather, crops, events of the time and most of all the family stories that were past down from generation to generation.  These times were often spent
UNDER THE SHADE TREE.

Several years ago I began this site with only the recording of history in mind but as time has gone by it has changed to include events of the current time.

We are very fortunate to live in a place that is known as the "
Friendliest Place in Cooke County."

I will make additions to this site as time permits.

Enjoy the trip!  Norman L. Newton
