"Old Flyer" and New Flyer Trolley Action in Vancouver
Class Leader with a broken rope Note the old streetcar tracks
Sidelined: Say hello to 2101, the fleet service test unit.  I thought it was renumbered from 2100 but that's not so. Streetcar tracks? You decide.  It's 4th and Fir;  north is right and the tracks led to the Burrard Bridge shops.
A great photo of a New Flyer Passing the M&J Car Wash
Photos don't get any better: 2107 merges onto the G-Bridge from Howe in perfect photo conditions.  Even my timing was good.  The camera has too much shutter lag. Spic-n-Span: The M&J guys adorned their car wash with a robot made out of a discarded boiler and old pipe.  It's on the roof above the blue car.
"Cab in Front" again Sunset for an Old Flyer Artic on Richards St
Good Idea, 99: Again it's 2946 "Cab in Front" (see previous page).  Here she's descending northbound on G-Bridge.  Highway 99 is the "Sea to Sky" road to the Whistler winter resort. Canadian Sunset: An unidentified E901 coasts down the Seymour ramp from Granville Bridge.  Note the well-strung Web of Intrigue overhead.  Speedier drivers put a lot of faith in their poles. Hail Mary: Artic 2514 shows how she manages those tough straightaways as she passes Holy Rosary Cathedral on Richards Street.  The Victoria route.was the first to receive New Flyer artics.
In front of BC Tel's "Mutual" central office (now Telus) Bendin' at Hastings and Richards
Just a roster shot: I imaged 2503 from the parkade across from the BC Telephone Building on Seymour.  To get here, she has turned N/B off Robson just to the right of frame.  Robson Street between Richards and Seymour is a strategic focus of the system, and a lousy place to have a dewirement during peak hours.  But it happens.  Quite often, too. Bendy Boy: Hastings Street runs left to right here, and artic 2516 is turning onto Richards S/B.  She's making a good show of sideswiping the bike lane.  Like the diesel artics, the 2500's are propelled by the axles in the rear section and have a complex anti-jackknife system.  The Gastown tourist district is down the hill in back.
