Velyr
have no sense of property. Any item made is for the use of the community,
and there is plenty of everything to go around. Jealousy over possessions
is unknown, as is the possessive feeling humans have toward other humans.
Velyr homes are generally mere sleeping-areas, with a work station if desired. Velyr see no need to seclude - in fact, seclusion is repulsive to them. Since everyone is interconnected on the Net, there is no need for privacy (indeed, no chance for it). Velyr are most comfortable in large groups - working, talking, socializing togetherr.
Velyr are more communal than humans. Humans prefer to be alone, and compete with one another when in groups. Velyr prefer to be in groups, and see themselves not as individuals, but as parts of the whole. Japan was heavily influenced by velyr during the Samauri period of its history, leading to the current Japanese mindset.
