Rock Climbing
Our most popular activity, which conflicts power with stealth and balance, dare-devilment with responsibility, fear with fulfilment, total dependence on one's partner with independence of action.

Lakeside Pinnacle, Lion's Head Granite,
Indoor Climbing Centre
Climbing at Higgovale Quarry - Climber: Matthew Oldfield

Abseiling
Short and long abseils; sliding down a rope, totally dependant on your hands and equipment, in control of your own destiny; mastering your own nerves.

Venues Include:
same as for rock climbing with spectacular abseils
at Peer's Cave and Silvermine Main Crag

Abseiling at Higgovale Quarry - note safety belay from instructor at top of cliff
Ropework
Jumaring, Prussiking, pulley systems, aid climbing, and rescue. All of the skills of climbing up, down, and with, ropes; an exercise in being organized.

Learning anchor set-ups at Higgovale Quarry
Orienteering
The 'art of getting properly lost' - using a map and compass to find a trail, or clues (and even edible 'treasure'....); trusting ones knowledge.

Rhodes Memorial, Lion's Head,
Silvermine Wolwekop
Caving
grovelling through narrow passages, gaping at huge halls, finding one's way through the dark tunnels....often an exercise in conquering natural fear of dark and claustrophobia.

Venues include:
Kalk Bay Caves - Echo Valley
Dark and scary! Entrance to Boomslang Cave
Bridge Jumping
launching oneself into space on the end of a very thin looking rope challenges the spirit, forcing commitment - no turning back once you've gone!

Wynberg Pedestrian Bridge
Challenge yourself: BRIDG JUUUUUMPIIIING!!!!
Other activities
Canoeing at Lakeside; basic snorkeling; zip-line slides, Learning some fist aid: like how to handle hypothermia and snakebite or storms and other emergencies in the hills; watching climbing videos; quizzes; the occasional game of Laser Quest and much more....
