Welcome to my Hale County Page |

The Hale County Library is housed in this building in Greensboro. Here, I met two helpful librarians and members of the Hale County Historical Society. I just had to join! (Membership dues, $5.) |

This is the CSA memorial statue located in front of the Hale County courthouse in Greensboro. Check back next month for the names of the soldiers carved on the monument. The records in the courthouse for the most part have been microfilmed and are available from your local Family History Center, or from the Alabama Department of Archives and History. Some of the original records are stored in the attic of this building, and even in April, the temperature up there can easily exceed 100 degrees F. But the probate records are stored in the vault of the Probate Court and are in good condition. |
