A. Restoring the resurrection life: Introduction B. How do we restore the resurrection life?:
Removing self-hatred by forgiving all those who have hurt us.
SECOND STEP:
THIRD STEP: Removing self-hatred by forgiving those who have hurt us Where we have been rejected or hurt by others, the only godly response is to forgive those who have hurt us and walk in God's love. Any other reponse is sinful. However, because of an unwillingness to forgive, many believers compensate for the rejection and hurt with sinful behavior patterns. They are thus not able to live from the new resurrection life in Christ. Their forgiveness breeds bitterness and self-hatred instead. Self-hatred is like a boil or an abcess that has started on the body because a piece of poisonous wood has pierced into the skin. The poisonous splinter represents the sins of ohers against our lives. Forgiveness removes the poisonous splinter that caused the boil. Our forgiveness of the sins of others can bring true healing to our wounded soul. Just couselling and the ministry of healing can never truely heal the painful wounds in our soul. The boil can only be healed when the splinter has been removed through.
5. SECOND STEPS:
And I pray that you, being rooted and established in LOVE, may have power, together with all the saints, to GRASP how wide and long and high and deep is the LOVE OF CHRIST, and to KNOW this LOVE that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of the fullness of God. God desire us to know and experience His love in all its heights and depths. And as we know God's love, we will be filled with His fullness - His total presence, power and love. We will then live truely as sons of God - always victorious. We will always be full of His righteousness, peace and joy (Romans 14:17). As we know the depths of God;s love, our lives become secure in that love. As we enjoy God's extravagent love, we will be generous and kind to others. As we become rooted and grounded in God;s love for us, we will no longer be bound by fear of rejection, for "Perfect love drives our fear" (1 John 5:18). It is then that we begin to respond to others in love.
Let us open our heart to received God's love right now
"I have made you in my image. You are made in my likeness - the likeness of God (Genesis 1:26-27). You are not just a thing, or only just an animal. No, you are a child made in my glorious image (Psalm 8:5). Therefore, you are special and unique."
"I am the All-Wise God, and I do not make mistake (Romans 16:27, Jude 25). I have created you different - different from others. You are special and unique in my eyes. You have been fearfully and wonderfully made. I have made you beautiful (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Therefore, you are beautiful in my eyes. Do not compare yourself with others (2 Corintians 10:12). I have made you uniquely beautiful in my eyes"
"You were born by my will, the will of God. You were not born by human will or decision (John 1:13). I have purposely made you. I made you for myself" (Isaiah 43:21).
"Do not say you are small, a grasshopper, a useless person, or only a child (Number 13:33; Jeremiah 1:7). I am on your side. The Creator of the universe is on your side. I am living in You. I live in You by my Spirit" (John 14:7).
"See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands. Your name is ever before me. I know you by name" (Isaiah 49:16).
"You are a child I have borne. You are a baby at my breast. I have always loved you in my arms. Take refuge in me, and enjoy the embrace of my love (Song of Songs 2:6). Underneath you and around you are my everlasting arms" (Deuteronomy 33:27).
"Though your father and mother may have abandoned and neglected you; Though others may have abused you and rejected you; Though men may have betrayed you and hurt you; I receive you as my child (Psalm 27:10). I accept you just as you are in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:6). I suffered with you in your rejection by others. He who despised you despised me (Luke 10:16). He who persecuted you persecuted me (Acts 9:4-5; 20-21).
"Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything in all creation, will be able to separate you from my love that is in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:37-39).
"I watch over you jealousy. I watch over you as a hen guards her chicks under her winds (Luke 13:31). You are the apple of my eye. You are my soft-spot. You are my precious, tender child. Whoever touches you touches the apple of my eye" (Zechariah 2:8). "You are not useless. Ignore what others have said about you. What men think or say of you is not important. Only what I think of you is important" (2 Corinthians 10:18).
"I rejoiced over you with singing (Zephaniah 3:17). All the angels in heaven rejoice with me over you (Luke 15:7,10). You are the object of our love and celebration" (Luke 15:23-24).
"You were bought with the blood of my Son (Revelations 5:9). I delivered you from darkness, so I can bring you back to myself (2 Corinthians 5:18). You are no longer your own; you belong to me" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
"As a father, I will do anything good for you (Matthew 7:11). I want to lavish all my love on you (Luke 15:21-24). I long to gracious to you. I want to show you my compassion (Isaiah 30:18). I want to pour out my love on you, extravagently, generously and eagerly." "If I did not spare my own Son, but gave His life for you, will I not freely and graciously give you all things? (Romans 8:32). All that I have is yours (Luke 15:31; 1 Corinthians 3:21). I freely give them to you. Ask and you will receive" (Matthew 7:8).
"I know of your pains and loneliness. I know of your trials and suffering. I know of your sadness and griefs. I know the betrayals of those whom you trusted (Psalm 139:1-4; Revelation 2:9). I was always there with you (Psalm 139:7-12). I felt the pains you suffered" (Isaiah 53:4). "But now I will comfort you (Psalm 23:4). I will bear your burden with you (Psalm 55:22). I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" (Isaiah 41:10). "I will go through all your difficulties with you. When you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned" (Isaiah 43:2).
"Do not fear what others may think of you. Do not fear what others may say about you. What they say or think is not important. Don't let the fear ofo men paralyse you." "Don't quit your job because of fear of failure. Have confidence in me. You can do all thinks through my Son Jesus Christ who give you the strength. I will fill you with my wisdom and strength. Just call on me" (Philippians 4:13; James 1:5).
"Not one sparrow will fall to the ground without my knowing. You are worth more than many sparrows in my eyes. I know even the number of hairs on your head" (Matthew 10:29-31). "Cast all your anxiety upon me, for I care for you (1 Peter 5:6-7). Just seek first my kingdom and my righteousness; and everything you need will be added to you" (Matthew 6:33).
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you. Before you were born I set you apart" (Jeremiah 1:5). You have a destiny to fulfill. I have a divine purpose for you in my kingdom (Esther 4:14). I have a ministry for you that only you can fulfill" (1 Corinthians 12:27). "Though you feel small and little, you will be a mighty nation (Isaiah 60:22). I have plans to proper you; plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). I will fulfill my purpose for you. I will perfect that which concerns you" (Psalm 138:8).
"Forget the former things. Do not dwell on the past (Isaiah 43:18). Forgive everyone, and set yourself free from the past." "Rejoice in me always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" (Philippians 4:4).
