G. Crisis/trauma/shock/fear.

Demons can enter a person in times of crisis or trauma (injury), including times of physical, emotional, and spiritual distress.
Such times, would include difficult childbirth, accidents, sicknesses, operations, abandonment, adoption, rejection, divorce, separation from loved ones, death of a loved one, etc.

When a person does not know how to react righteously in any crisis, he has sinned against the word of God and opens  door for demonic spirits to enter.
This happens when such a person is overwhelmed by the situation he faces.

This is especially true for infants and children who suffer crisis and traumas and yet are unable to protect themselves because of their lack of maturity, and who are also not protected by those in authority over them.

Examples of such situation (and associated spirits) are as follows:

  1. A child is born after a difficult birth and delivery process, involving pain and suffering for mother and child.
(Spirits of trauma, pain, fretting, unhappiness).

  2. A child is abandoned at birth/abandoned later in life/given away in adoption.
(Spirits of rejection, fear of abandonment, self-hate, self-rejection, fear of rejection, fantasies, withdrawal, rebellion, anger, etc.).

  3. An attempted abortion is made on a child before he was born.
(Spirits of hear of death, rejection, suicide, etc.).

  4. A child is born prematurely and almost dies.
    (Spirits of fear of death).

  5. A child grows up hiding from thunderstorms together with her mother who is herself totally frightened by thunder and lightning.
    (Spirits of fear of thunderstorms).

  6. A child/person nearly drowns.
A situation can also occur where someone playfully threatens to push you under the water to drown you or to suffocate you.
(Spirits of fear of water, drowning, suffocation, death, etc.).

  7. A child/person is involved in a car accident.
(Spirits of fear of traveling in cars/buses/other vehicles).

  8. A child is left alone in a house.
(Spirits of loneliness, abandonment, rejection, fantasies).

  9. A child/person loses a loved one, or a child witnesses the grief, fear or hurt of a relative who has lost a loved one.
(Spirit of grief, confusion, death, fear of abandonment, etc.).

  10. A child/person has a serious illness or undergoes a major operation.
(Spirits of infirmity/death, fear of dying).

  11. A child/person watching movie/comics with scenes and pictures which are fearful and frightening, e.g. monster, human sacrifices, etc.
(Spirits of fear of monster, darkness, shadows, death, etc.).

  12. A child witnessing violence in the family, e.g. father constantly beating the mother.
(Spirits of fear of being attacked, unforgiveness, anger, conflict).

  13. Lack of discipline by parents when a child makes demands and throw tantrums.
(Spirits of anger, rebellion, distraction, hyperactivity, selfishness, destruction, rejection, jealousy, stubbornness, melancholy, depression).

  14. Parents who are overprotective, manipulative, and controlling over a child.
(Spirits of anger, bitterness, fear, insecurity, resentment in the child).

  15. A child's parents are divorced.
(Spirit of fear of abandonment, rejection, irresponsibility, escape, manipulation, self-indulgence, death, little-girl spirit, little-boy spirit, etc.)

  16. A girl sees blood coming from her body during her first menstrual period without any understand of what is happening.
(Spirits of fear of bleeding to death, fear of blood).

  17. A child is locked in a closet/room/basement when playing with others, or when punished by adults.
(Spirits of claustrophobia, i.e., fear of confined spaces).

  18. A child is physically, verbally or sexually abused.
(Spirits of pain, grief, loneliness, rejection, withdrawal, anger, rebellion, self-condemnation, etc.).

  19. A child fears losing the affections of his parents when another child, step-sister, or step-brother, is born to his parents/step-parent.
(Spirits of jealousy, anger, fear of abandonment, rejection, etc.).

H. Transference

Transference of demons from one person to another can occur under many circumstances.

1. Transference from ancestors.

When demonic spirits are present in the parents and foreparents, they can be passed down to the children at the time of conception and of gestation of the baby in the womb of the mother.
This is in line with God's warning that He will visit the sins of the fathers on the children to the third and forth generation of those who hate God (Exodus 20:5).

2. Transference from spiritual leaders

When a person allows another person to lay hands on him for the impartation of "blessings, spiritual gifts or anointing," evil spirits can be transferred from the one who is laying hands into the one who is receiving the "blessings."
Just as spiritual gifts can be imparted, so also can demonic spirits.

For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
(2 Timothy 1:6)

The only protection is a prayer to God for the covering of the blood of Jesus on our lives to prevent any form of demonic entry into our lives.
We should also be discerning and not allow just anybody to lay hands on us.

However, the laying of hands by a man of God will impart spiritual gifts and power to those under them when the man of God ministers in the power and love of God.

3. Transference through sexual union

When sexual intercourse occurs outside of marriage, through adultery, fornication, rape, prostitution, homosexual unions, etc, spirits are transferred from one body to another.

Do you not know that he who unites with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh."
(1 Corinthians 6:16)

In the case of a marriage where only one partner is fully committed to Christ, that person need to seek the protection of the blood of Jesus to keep himself/herself from transference of demons from the other.

4. Transference from ungodly company

Demons will be transferred to us when we mix with ungodly persons and imitate their ways, or agree with their slander and bitter complains.
When we sin just as our ungodly friends sin, their demons will enter our lives to oppress us.

Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man,
do not associate with one easily angered,
or you may learn his ways
     and get yourself ensnared.
(Proverbs 22:24-25)

Christians who continuously complain bitterly about how others have treated them in the past can never be set free from demonic bondages.
If you counsel them and they do not want to repent, but keep on slandering others, do not fellowship with them or agree with their complaints (2 Timothy 3:1-5).
Such believers will defile you and cause you to sin against others.
In the end you will also come under God's judgment and discipline.

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, UNFORGIVING, SLANDEROUS< without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than loves of God -- having  a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.
(2 Timothy 3:1-5)

I. Setting yourself free from demonic bondages

Every believer can receive total freedom in Christ in order to serve God fruitfully and effectively.
Take the following steps.

1. Repent of any sins in your own life that have opened a door for demons to enter and remain in you.

Repentance opens a door for God to forgive us and set us free and bless us.
Daily repentance allows us to be cleansed daily by the blood of Jesus, so that there is no longer any open door that permits demons to enter and remain in us.
Repentance opens us to the riches of God's kingdom every day (Matthew 4:17).

From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."
(Matthew 4:17)

2. Forgive any one who has hurt you or contributed to your present problems.

We must repent of all anger and bitterness against our parents, relatives, church leaders and members, neighbors, employers, colleagues, and others.
If we do not forgive others, our sins of unforgiveness will open a door for more demons to oppress us, and we can never be set free (Matthew 18:32-35).

3. Exercise your authority in Christ and break every demonic bondage in your life

Bind and break the power of every demonic stronghold in your life and cast out the demons from yourself.

4. Live in righteousness and holiness everyday

Read God's word everyday and obey all the commands of God.
Follow the specific leading of the Holy Spirit everyday.
Love God with all your being and serve Him only.
Walk fervently in God's love towards others.

5. Meditate on God's word everyday.

Daily meditation on God's word (reading God's word aloud) will build up our faith in God.
This will help us to maintain a life of continuous victory over all demonic powers that seek to harm us, our family, our business or our ministry.

Your thought

  1. Do you remember any crisis or shock or emotional or physical injury that you experienced when you were young?
If there had been such an experience, you must ask yourself: "Am I still affected negatively by that experience? Why? Do I need to set myself free?"

  2. Why must you not fellowship with a believer who is always full of bitterness?
