Pretta was originally founded by Orcs. The Orc Clans needed a neutral place to trade and meet so they picked this spot along the Sowbryn river. They named it Pre'ha, which means "point on a map, spot, or mark." Later when the humans came the orcs let them settle there because it, being a neutral trading place, was open to everyone. The human population grew quickly through immigration as times were troubling for the kingdom to the north west. The town had few defenses and was almost completely destroyed in an attack by demons. Pretta was rebuilt but the humans who now numbered more then the orcs took a great amount of power from the orcs. This is when Pre'ha became Pretta, mostly due to the fact the humans didn't care to pronounce the orcish word correctly. Elves and then beastmen came to settle in Pretta after the contruction of two defensive walls: one around the city and one around all of the farms and estates that surround the city. Thus Pretta has become an unusual city with four races dwelling in it.
