IQ Explained

The purpose of this page is to explain how to takes someone's (or something's) IQ stat and turn it into the IQ number that we all understand. Palladium's 10x doesn't do it for me because the range is unrealistically wide. No IQ of 30 or 200 for me, please. Unless one is a squirrel and one is a god. So thats what I did. The numbers are still bias toward smarts (humans between 3 and 18 would translate to 70 and 145) but its still an improvement. And for plot reasons i'll probably never want someone with less than 70 real iq.

What do i mean by IQ? The ability to think abstractly. To solve problems. To learn. Not willingness to learn.

To calculate the iq of a creature you need to know two things, its IQ stat and it's race's IQ rank. There are 5 ranks:
F - Creatures who live by instinct. If they are to be taught anything it must be done in a very direct manor. No morals. Insects, worms, lizards, dumber birds.
D - Creatures capable of learning and some reasoning. Most mammals. Dogs, cats. Some monsters. The development of dynamic social networks. Still no morals, no culture.
C - The gray area. Lots of monsters are Cs in Eadra. There are no Cs in real life, although some dolphins are close. The beginings of culture and morality.
B - Creatures with roughly human intellegnce. Elves, goblins.
A - 'Gods.' Creatures with vastly superior intellegence.

The formula calculates the equivelent iq for any creature. Note that smart Cs are higher than dumb Bs. In this way the different categories blend together. It holds that a 20 of one ranking is equal to a 5 of the next.
F Ranking EIQ = IQ(1-20)
D Ranking EIQ = 2*IQ + 10(12-50)
C Ranking EIQ = 2*IQ + 40(42-80)
B Ranking EIQ = 5*IQ + 55(60-155)
A Ranking EIQ = 5*IQ + 130(135-230)
