Mick

The Gadflys are a group who began as a trio in Canberra around 1990. Their original line-up as a trio with members Phil, Mick and Andy, has played many a diverse tune from lazy jazz to original rock, avoiding the pidgeon holes that can be such a trouble to so many bands. Not a lot of notice was taken of them(although they certainly deserve some) until they became the house band for the now defunct satirical show 'Good News Week', which exposed them to the nation. They have released 3EP's (Self titled, Don't get me wrong and Guru) and 4 longer CD's going by the names of Take Your Medicine, Dimitri's Bungalo, Out of the Bag and Many Happy Returns. With stylish songs and an impressive live act, the Gadflys are something special. The Gadflys are: Mick Moriarty (guitar and vocals), Phil Moriarty (clarinet, vocals, tin whistle, guitar, harmonica), Pete Kelly (trumpet, vocals), Elmo Z. Reed (double bass), Pete Velzen (drums, percussion) and the late Andy Lewis (double bass, piano, vocals)

The Whitlams are Good.
But they're not the Gadflys.

A one-page reel of info, not recent but still all good.
