Planning for a trip is very essential. You have to have backup plans to fall back on, if something goes wrong
on a trip, this is especially true if you are not using a tour operator.
One way to do this is to read books written on a particular country. This will help you understand the country
you will be visiting. It is not possible to cover a continent like Europe in a three week period. An endeavor of this
sort calls for at least 3 to 6 months of travel. If you have the money to do this, nothing should stop you.
Otherwise, you have to pick and choose the country and destinations within it based on your interest and popular
sentiment.
I will discuss the aspect of planning by splitting it up into smaller categories, so you will not have to read a
long boring essay. The sections I will cover are air travel, getting insurance, obtaining a visa and rail passes.
