Welcome and Greetings!

Faces of Arthur
is my new Arthurian website. The name reflects the myriad of views, opinions and representations of King Arthur through the ages, many of which are represented here.

This site is, as it did before, features my collection of Arthurian material. This collection contains all kinds of of Arthurian books, movies, music, calendars and material such as miniatures. Hosted by me, however, are the Arthurian Articles, mostly by August Hunt and the book by Fabio Barbieri concerning the History of Arthurian Britain, 407-597.

Vortigern Studies
the parent site, is an initiative based in the Netherlands, dedicated to the study of the period between the Roman occupation of Britain and the Early Middle Ages. For more on this, see About Vortigern Studies.

Arthurian Collection
I first started collecting novels about King Arthur when my parents bought me one my first comics for the long drive to our holiday destination, when I was about seven years old. Although that sparked a very different collection at the time (comics), my Arthurian curiosity only changed to a historical 'obsession' when I became familiar with the children's/young adult genre.

Arthurian Articles
This new section holds the extension of the site into Arthurian articles. Some of them are mine, but by far the most are by August Hunt. These articles include new looks at archaeological items, such as the Cornish 'Artgonov Stone', or the possible background for most of the characters in Arthurian legend.

History of Arthurian Britain, 407-597
Fabio P. Barbieri (1962) has a degree in Religious Studies and Social Anthropology from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, but did always love mythology. His first book is on the subject of comparative mythology. This work on the Arthurian epic and history is his current project.
