"Love Not Forsaken"
Cruel hands with no minds
No thoughts of mercy left behind

The weary hearts of those who weep
No peace or comfort as they sleep

Words of doubt words of grief
Little answer gives less relief

Love that has a room for more
Will always seek another door

Through each journey
Each new step you take

Be gentle Be Kind
Take a breath Take a break

Do not lose sight
Don’t hide in fear

For love cannot fade
Look around you

It has always been here-

~Nothing can take their love from us~

There had been a storm warning
    It would eventually hit home
    My heart was out there
    It had taken a chance
A chance on curiosity and concern
Just a fleeting moment all was still
    The dams soon bursting open
Where was day and where was night?
There would be darkness in every corner      of the sky
    The only shelter a book-
    Deep but meaningful truths
Clearing all thoughts, wounds and fears
And when the final page read, the                 shadows lifted
    Revealing the beauty, the splendour
    Pink horizons of the sunset

Boasting all that is good
    All that is God!~

‘Blind Injustice’

With his bark he yells
She cowers once more
No talking back the order
And she’s smart not to ignore

He scorns her over and over
She fights back a dam of tears
Another drawn out day dwindles away
Placing the lid back on all her fears

If only she’d do as she was told
He cannot comprehend her
His instructions he thought clear
He gives her one more reminder

Invitations declined in hidden shame
An outside world couldn’t understand
Her own self worth washed down the drain
Dare not admit to loving this man

Late at night all doors are locked
But she knows he still has a key
The smell of liquor a growl in his voice
Again the closet her sanctuary

But in the end she’ll make a plan
Funny how so much pain makes you strong
And yes, oh how she’ll pine for the man
While he ponders what he did wrong-
