   General Information

Penguins' bodies are designed for the cold sea. Since their flippers are solid and heavy they can stay underwater for a long time, coming up on land if they want to. Thier blubber, paddle-like feet, and watertight feathers make them comfortable in the sea. Unfortunately, they have little or no sense of smell and eyesight. Scientists beleive that when penguins come onto land they are nearsighted. This is a slight disadvantage but when they enter the water the visions appears to become better.
Penguins are considered the most social birds and when they eat they tend to stay in groups. An intresting fact about penguins is that when they eat they tend to stay in groups. An intresting fact about penguins is that when they want to hunt they are afraid that a preadator may eat them once they enter the ocean. They keep on pushing one another into the sea. Eventually one penguin will fall in. If that unfortunate penguin is eaten the group of penguins will travel to another spot, but if the penguin is not eaten the rest of the group will dive in.
