| Once Lacey and Zac calmed down after that close call and each had had a couple of drinks, things went well for everyone. There was alot of joking around as we pretty much killed the two trays of appetizers that we ordered. Watts took a huge ribbing for her appetite, considering it matched mine. Zac watched her eat delicately, but still put away as much as the two of us, in awe. I shook my head and giggled. "Zac, we did just spend the whole day with our nerves twanging and performing and signing autographs. This is the first REAL food I've eaten all day.." I said and gave Watts a light elbow. She looked ar me grinning. "What?" "You had any solid food besides this today?" I asked her. "Are you freaking kidding me, Jess? Hell no...I was busy all day and nervous, all I could manage to stomach were the damn protien shakes.." she said. I looked at Zac. "There ya go.." I nodded at him. He laughed and shoved the third plate of appetizers between Watts and me. "Eat up, Ladies! Can't have you passing out on the dance floor now, can we?" Watts and I both laughed and Tay shook his head. I shoved the plate a little more gently than he had back to the center of the table. We ordered the appetizers because, at first, everyone was shaken by the episode outside, and no one realized how hungry they were. I had finally had enough and had Tay order me another beer. "Easy, Jess." he chuckled. "remember last time you had too much to drink?" "Umm... yeah.." I said sarcastically and wiggled my eyebrows at him. "DO YOU?" I grinned seductively. He cleared his throat and shoved his beer in front of me too. I laughed. "That's what I thought.." I said. "Oh no. Here we go.." Zac groaned and everyone laughed. The band started playing so he grabbed Watts' hand and drug her from her chair. "I can't sit and watch those two," he said loudly, to be heard over the band, and to make sure everyone at the table heard him too, "I just ate...let's dance.." he looked questioningly at her. She giggled and threw her napkin on the table. "What are you waiting for?" she asked and pulled him out on to the dance floor. He looked back at me, grining as she tugged at his hand. I waved him out there and giggled, looking at Tay. He smiled at me and put his hand on my shoulder. I took a long drink of my beer and set it back on the table. Jake and Abbey were deep in conversation and Ike and Lacey were enjoying the music, Ike with his arm around his finacee, protectively. |
| Tay took another drink of his beer, set it on the table and stood. "C'mon, baby.." he grinned. "Let's go put those two goobers to shame.." He held his hand out to me and I took it and stood. I took another quick swig off my beer and set it back down before Tay had pulled me far enough away from the table to drop it. He dragged me through the crowd that had gathered on the floor next to where Zac and Watts were. Taylor could really dance too, I was impressed. We were having so much fun, it took us a minute to realize that the others had joined us. Once we did we all had a blast, I think that we could have worn the band out. They went on a break so we went back to our table and ordered another round of beer. We drank them, joking around, Abbey was a good sport too. I suddenly stood up, "I need to find the Ladies' room girls..." I wobbled a bit and Tay steadied me laughing. "Anyone else?" All of the women at the table stood and the guys all looked at each other, Zac rolling his eyes. We headed in that direction and had to wait in line for a stall. Abbey and Watts went in first and two more opened up for Lacey and me. I heard a stall door open and a slightly familiar voice say. "Hello, Watts." "Liz." she answered. Lacey was coming out the same time as me but I put my hand out to stop her. I motioned for her to be quiet. |
| I listened to what they were saying, keeping a hand on Lacey's arm. Abbey came up behind me and I stopped her too. "shh.." I whispered. "I see you're hanging around with that Jessie. You should hate her. She changed her routine at the last minute, you would have won." Liz said. Lacey and Abbey looked at me and then each other. "She's cool, Liz. And she's really good.." Watts defended me and I grinned. "Bullshit Watts. She's a stuck up bitch who will do pretty much anything to get those stupid men to follow her around like she's a fucking gang leader. Eric would still be her lapdog too, if she hadn't turned on him after all this time...God! He deserves better than that.' she said bitterly. I looked at Lacey, eyes wide. Then I made a gagging face. She covered her mouth to stifle a laugh as did Abbey. "Oh yeah? Like who? You?" Watts asked her sarcastically. "Well, if you must know..YES ME. He would have represented me a long time ago if Jessie hadn't had him so fucking blinded." she ranted. "Liz, get over it. Jessie never had any interest in any man until she met Taylor. Eric would have been dust no matter what. He should get over himself too. Jesus! Don't fuck with her either, Liz. She's the one who fucked his arm up, and he's a grown man. Wonder how much damage she could do to you?" "SHE did that to him?" Liz exploded. "Yeah, if he hadn't been a coward and attacked Taylor while he wasn't looking, he'd still have a good arm. So stuff that in your pipe and smoke it..get over yourself.." Watts said angrily. "Well well, she's got you fooled too then...I hope you bitch twins have a happy life together..." Liz said stupidly and Watts laughed out loud right at her. "Take a fucking walk before I kick your ass myself..you moron. And don't let me catch you messing with my friend either.." I stuck my head around the corner to see Liz stick her nose in the air on her way out and Watts start after her. I leapt and grabbed her arm stopping her.She turned to me and gave an exasperated sigh. "Did you hear all that? Do you believe that shit? I oughta go out there and shove her face in the drumset and let him pound her fucking head.." We all laughed at her outburst, then I squeezed her shoulder. "It's okay, Watts. She's apparently more of an idiot than we thought. We are supposed to be having fun, remember?" "Yaeh, okay..but if she starts any bullshit, I'll hold her and you can whip her ass." All of us laughed and went back to the table. As we approached the table we could hear the guys in a heated GUY discussion. They stood when they saw us coming and held our chairs as we sat down. The band started palying again after a couple of minutes, an oldie I remembered from our high school days. I looked at Abbey and she grinned her recognition. "COME ON!" I said and grabbed her by the hand. I yanked Watts out of her chair, knowing she'd catch on, and motioned to Lacey who decided to be timid. She shook her head and stayed. I grabbed her and drug her behind me to where Watts and Abbey were. Abbey led and I followed, with Watts and Lacey on either side of me. Watts caught on right away with Lace a couple of seconds behind her. |
| We were giggling and getting into the steps,and I noticed everyone else on the floor was following us as they caught on. When we faced our table all of our dates were standing applauding and laughing like crazy. I gave Taylor a "come and get it" look, but he grinned and stayed with the other men for a few minutes, then headed for the bandstand. I saw him say something to the sound guy and hand him some money. What the hell? The girls and I kept up our dance until the song was over then went to get our beers. I took a long swig off mine and set it on the table, leaning over to kiss Taylor on the cheek. |
