Jamie quickly stripped off her clothes and headed for the shower, leaving a rumpled trail between the door and the bathroom. Under the warm spray, she let her mind wander to Taylor. She let herself really think about him, for about five seconds. Her body began to shake and she hurried herself out of the shower, dried quickly and slipped into the most comfortable pair of shorts and t-shirt she had. Her body was still trembling and suddenly, Jimmy was in her head again, warning her to stay away from Taylor, that she was getting too close. She shook her wet head, hard, trying to shake Jimmy's droning warnings out of her head, as she pulled the futon out. As she walked to the closet, to pull the pillow and blanket down, she could hear Jimmy's voice getting clearer in her head. 'Don't do it, Jame...love is for sissies. Guys like that will fuck up your life and screw with your music...sex is fine, Jame...but DON'T fall in love....' Jamie pitched the pillow at the futon angrily, the flipped her blanket out and wrapped it around herself. 'don't jame...stay away from him...' Jimmy's voice continued to echo in her head. She flopped down on the futon and tried to get comfortable, and her gaze rested on the framed picture of herself and Jimmy, on the beach in San Diego. The warning voice in her head intesified and she reached over the arm of the futon and grabbed the paperback she'd been meaning to finish. "SHUT THE FUCK UP JIMMY!!!" she hollered and pitched the book, knocking the picture to the floor without breaking it. "Dammit Jimmy. You are a NAG.." she muttered, turned on her side and took a calming breath. "Oh my god.." she breathed as Taylor's scent wafted up from the pillows and blanket. She smiled to herself, thinking about HOW his scent got there in the first place, then snuggled down, yawned and fell into a deep sleep. |
"Okay?" Ike looked at Jade with a huge grin. Jade blushed slightly and smiled. "Yes. Thank you, Issac." she told him. Isaac chuckled. "No. Thank YOU." he grinned. "I haven't succeeded in annoying him to that point in a LONG time. Definately worth it." "Hey..glad I could help out." Jade giggled. Patti and Zac shot each other a knowing grin and went back to their lunches before the two could notice. 'Serves Josh's stupid, disloyal ass right if Ike steals her..' Zac thought to himself, the resumed watching Patti as she nibbled on french fries, and picked at her salad. "No wonder you're so small.." Zac said, out loud, before he realized he spoke. Patti chuckled. "What?" she asked. Patti chuckled again when Zac actually blushed. "Sorry. Thinking out loud. No protien on that plate, woman. You're gonna waste away.." he teased. "I'm a vegetarian, silly. I know how to get my protien with out growing a massive ghetto booty thank you." she teased back. "Vegetarian? Really?" he asked, surprised. "Uh-huh." Patti smiled. "That's cool. Maybe when you're taking your break tomorrow night you could explain more." Zac grinned widely and nodded toward Ike's watch. "But if you two don't get moving, you're going to be late." Jade and Patti looked at each other in shock. "Oh shit!" Patti exclaimed, and gulped the last of her soda. Jade looked at Ike and giggled again. "We're gonna be in deep shit, and not able to go to lunch together anymore if we don't scoot. Thanks for sitting with us." she squeezed his hand, after both Zac and Ike got up to let them out. The girls, out of habit, began gathering up the remains to throw away. "Jade. Go." Ike smiled. "We'll get this. We wouldn't mind bumping into you guys for lunch again sometime.." he said. "Are you sure?" Patti asked. "GO." Zac grinned, kissed Patti's cheek and gave her a gentle push. "See you tomorrow night, right?" he asked her. "You bet. Thanks muscleman." she teased and headed for the door. Jade stood on tiptoe and kissed Ike's cheek. "Thank you for everything." she smiled, squeezed his hand again and hurried after Patti. "Bye.." Ike said, dreamily as he watched her leave. Once the girls were outside, Zac and Ike pitched the remains of their lunches in the garbage can, then grinned at each other as they watched patti and Jade get into the car, giggling like their sisters did when they were conspiring. "I dunno if that's good or bad.." Zac chuckled. When Ike didn't answer, Zac gave him a shove. "Snap out of it romeo.." Zac chuckled. Ike shot him a dirty look. "Get over yourself man. It's so obvious. Josh is diggin' his own grave anyway. Patience brother." Zac teased again as they headed for the door. "What do you mean Zac?" Ike ran after his quickly moving brother. "Nothing man. Just use the patience you are so notorious for." Zac grinned. "And don't push me or I'll have to crush your skull..GIRLIEMAN.." Zac flexed his chest muscles in his best Satruday Night Live impression. "Good lord. Mom can HAVE you.." Ike shook his head as they got into the car and pulled away. |
Isaac answered his cell phone hurriedly, before its incessant ringing woke Zoe. "Damn..I just walked in the door." he muttered, before he flipped it open. "Hello?" he said into the phone, trying not to sound annoyed, in case it was Jade. "Hey Ike..." the raspy voice said in his ear and then coughed loudly into it. "You okay, Josh? You sound like shit." he grinned. "Yeah..." another loud cough assaulted Ike's ear, so he had to hold the phone away from it. "I just wondered if you saw the spawn of satan...if she gave Jade my message? Or if you did?" Josh asked worriedly, then was wracked with another coughing fit. "I saw her. She said she would later. She said she was too busy at work to do anyting else.." Ike embellished. "YOU saw her?" Josh asked incredulously. "Where? The bitch from hell's place?" Josh snapped. "No. And don't let Tay hear you calling Jamie names, Josh. I dunno why you have a problem with her. She's cool. Zac and I ran into her and Patti at lunch. Zac was Jonesin' for a greasy cheeseburger." Ike told him. "Aunt Diana on her 'we need to eat healthier' kick again?" Josh asked chuckling. "Something like that. I gave Jade your message man. I hope she calls you soon." Ike said honestly. Josh would drive him buggy with the constant badgering and inquiries. "Zac and I have some work to do. I'll call you later. Do you need anything?" Ike asked. "Just for her to call me." he answered with a sigh. "I told her you wanted to talk, hang in there. See you later. Sleep. You sound like shit." Ike said again and flipped his phone shut with a relieved sigh. He couldn't get off the phone fast enough and his conscience was eating him alive. he couldn't help but think of Jade's sweet smile, her soft hand in his, that sweet kiss she'd planted on his cheek. Ike sighed again and went to find Zac, hoping Tay was home so he could lose himself in work. |
