Taylor gaped at Jamie as the band started another song amidst the applause, and then guzzled another two beers, when she didn't even look his way again. "What the fuck was that?" Zac asked, floored. "First off, Jame doesn't seem the type to be into the Goo Goo Dolls, second...what are you doing that's pissing her off so bad?" Taylor sighed heavily. "It's a new song. When Angel's not sick, the do mostly covers, Zac. You know that. Jame won't write for her. And I have not done anything but love Jamie..." the words were out of his mouth before he could stop them. Zac grinned at his brothers discomfort. Taylor shot him a look that told him he better keep his sarcastic comments to himself. "Damn, Tay. She's cool and all, but are you SURE?" Zac asked, knowing that Taylor was in so deep there was no getting out. "Yeah.." Taylor answered and took another pull of his beer. "Shit, Zac. I don't know what to do...she hasn't said 'get the fuck away from me..', but she hasn't really gone the other way either. It's like walking a tightrope with no net. I don't know how much longer I can do this." he said, then Jamie looked his way, flashing him that sexy, "I am so into this you have no idea.." smile. "You're gonna be this 'whipped' for the rest of your life.." Zac shook his head, and walked back over to the sound board, near Ike and Jade. "Someone should shoot me and put me outta my misery then..." Taylor thought as he took another pull off the beer bottle and adjusted the bulge in his pants, discreetly, when his mind drifted back to the afternoon he'd spent in Jamie's bed. Jade watched as Jamie played her heart out, all the while twisting Taylor's heart until it was almost out of his chest. She gave Issac an apologetic smile, and then motioned Jamie to slow down, "She's on fire again, huh?" Ike commented absently. "Yeah...she is a chicken shit." Jade replied, watching as Tami stretched her fingers and wiggled them, obviously sore. Ike grinned again and moved toward the soundboard. "You better bring Tami some ice, or she won't HAVE fingers left..." he said as Jade nodded her head and made a beeline for the bar. "Jamie..we gotta bring it down some..." Tami said, breathless over the top of the drumkit. "My fingers..they can't keep up THIS pace without a break in between. Especially not two nights in a row. Whatever shit you got going on with Taylor, get it straight and quit taking it out on me." she grinned. "Or get your ass home and write." Jamie stared at Tami, stunned. "Oh don't gimme that 'I dunno what you're talking about' stare Jameson. I was born at night, but NOT LAST night. Jeez!" Tami chuckled and thanked Jade for the ice she hurriedly rubbed on her fingertips. "No problem." Jade grinned back. "I have a better idea..." Tami suddenly brightened, looking from Jamie to Jade. Realization dawned on Jamie first and her face broke into a huge smile. "That's a good one too...crowd can get a slight break while we play that new one..." she looked pointedly at Jade, whose eyes widened in disbelief and panic. "NO! No WAY, Jamie!! Oh please don't do this to me...not here...god!" Jade was in a sheer panic, the though of playing in front of Ike, let alone this crowd was enough to make her want the floor to open up and swallow her. "Come on Jadeleigh.." Jamie soothed her friend. "It will be just us..like at my place..." she stepped out from behind the drumkit and gave the crowd a huge smile. "Change of plans people.." Jamie grinned around the smoky room at the loud groan that ensued. "Oh come on now, kids!" she chuckled into her headset. "Tami here needs a break and we have something REALLY new to play for you...it happens to be mine." She smiled brightly when the crowd of regulars cheered. "Well mine and Jadeleigh's..." she said and tugged Jade to the stool where Tami's equipment was set up. She sat her down, facing the rest of the band and herself, then pulled a stool over and planted her backside on it, half facing the crowd and Jade. "It's just us Jadeleigh..." Jamie said softly, her hand over the mic part of her headset. All three Hanson men watched, enthralled. Ike shot one quick, worried glance at Taylor, who gave him an equally worried glance and then both turned their attention back to the stage. "We're just writing together Jadeleigh..." Jamie said softly again, then nodded for Jade to start. "keep looking at ME.." Jamie said. Jade took a deep, panicked breath and began to play. She focused only on Jamie's face, Jamie's voice, and making sure hers blended with Jamie's the way it should, as she played. Jade was equally amazed as she used jamie for a focal point, at how much of her real emotions you could read on her face when she sang. No wonder Taylor hung around through Jamie's 'episodes' she thought to herself as she tried to put the same amount of feeling into her singing as Jamie did. As the last notes of the song they were singing (the one Ike and Tay had walked in on ) died away, Jade was shocked to hear the thunderous applause coming from the dark, smoky area in front of the stage. She looked at Jamie, who was smiling and trying not to laugh. "I KNEW you could do it!!" Jamie encouraged, holding her hand over the mic. "Angel's sorry ass is GONE and YOU are IN. Just like that, miss. Even if I have to blindfold you." Jamie told her forcefully. "Plus I think that you have completely blown Isaac, the white knight, completely away." she chuckled and nooded in their direction. All three hanson's were on their feet howling wildly and applauding like there was no tomorrow. "Check out the wood you created for HIM." Jamie giggled, and wrapped her arm around Jade's neck. "Gonna take another short break everybody.." she said into her mic. "Back in a few. I promise!" she smiled brightly around the room and dragged Jade off stage with her. Jade stumbled slightly behind her, still stunned that she'd played in front of anyone but Jamie at all. |
