The man shivered from his position behind the snow-covered bushes, watching tired children trudge over and over up the hillside and then glide down on little red sleds with shiny runners. This went on for several hours. He grew colder and colder, but stayed where he was until the children grew tired and headed home. He followed them, making sure he wasn't seen.

The children stood their sled against the house and went inside to get warm. When he was sure they were not looking out the window, he carefully snuck up to the house and picked up the sled. He trudged back to the hill and up it. Then he lay down on the little sled, his long legs dangling behind him, and traveled with it as it slid down the hill.

At the bottom of the hill, the sled crashed into a bush, sending him sprawling in the snow. He carefully arose, making sure nothing was injured and tromped off, leaving the sled where it had stopped, grumbling, "This isn't as much fun as I remember it being when I was a kid."
