I am in no hurry
To see that first flurry.
Want to be warm and dry
When the first snowflakes fly.

Winter's too cold
And I'm not that old
That I don't remember
The chill of December.

Kids throwing snowballs
Against these four walls.
"Gram! Come out and play!
It's going to snow hard all day!"

I'll sit by the heat
Take the chill off my feet.
Watching as the snow
Covers the window.

All covered in white,
A beautiful sight.
Pine trees leave stripes of green,
And flowers are sleeping unseen.

A white, feathery curtain
Covers all to be certain,
Of putting the earth to sleep.
The promise of Spring to keep
