| Types of Articles |
| Editorials Editorials are usually opinion-based resposes to something that's going on in the world. They may be serious or sarcastic, but the information you use in them must be truthful. News Articles These are what you would read if you wanted to know what the facts are. They may include interviews, eye-witness accounts, dates, times, and other sources of information. Advertisements These are creative, short, and to-the-point. When creating an ad, think about what qualities you'd like to know about something in order to make the decision to buy it. Literary Articles A literary article may include a recent book review, an interview with an author, an editorial response to a book, etc. Arts & Entertainment These are short, informative blurbs about what people can do. News from the county fair, a bulletin for an upcoming rally or march, or a publication of a prize-winning horse would all be found in this section of the paper. Creative Writing Pieces Choose "the winner" of your newspaper's "Creative Writing Contest" by selecting one or two of the works your teammates completed. This is a great way to fill empty space in the newspaper and it adds to your creativity. |
