Alright, so you understand the task at hand and now it's time to begin!!  The first thing that your team of four needs to do is decide who is going to take on each role.  Remember, although each role will be doing something different, every person will be doing some type of writing.  Read the role descriptions below and then discuss with your team who would be the best for each position!  Also, please check out the Role Chart that you will each be completing for your position.

Layout/Designer:
You are responsible for formatting the text boxes on the
Templates that are provided.  You will also be the one that arranges the literary pieces and advertisements into a newspaper format.  Your job is to make the newspaper unified and cohesive by using the best format possible.  Communication with the reporters is essential and you will be in charge of the Advertisements for the paper.  You must include a minimum of two advertisements regarding the era that you are living in (late 1800s or early 1900s).

Reporter #1--Women's Beat:
You are responsible for no less than two articles regarding your beat.  Some possible areas of focus for you may be women in society (remember, you live in the late 1800s or early 1900s), the woman's role in the home and/or women's lives in general.  Draw on the story for ideas regarding what the main character may be feeling or how she is perceived by others.

Reporter #2--Special Assignment: Charlotte Perkins Gilman:
You will be undertaking the task of writing at least two articles with regards to the actual story of "The Yellow Wallpaper."  Some areas of interest to you may be the content of the story, author biographical information, Gilman's commentary on her story and/or commentary about the story from literary critics.


Reporter #3--Lifestyles:
Your job is to gather information information regarding the lifestyles of everyday citizens in society with regards to the time period we are studying.  Some areas of interest for your beat may include sports and leisure activities of your time period, entertainment and/or medicine/illnesses of the time.  You are also responsible for comprising a minimum of two articles for the final product

Okay, there they are...so pick which one would suit you best and let's "Live Through" the wallpaper!!  Also, now would be a good time to take a look at your Cooperative Contract, if you haven't already.  This will contain more specific information regarding deadlines, individual responsibilities and group conference times.
