| MOMS CLUB NEWS - FEBRUARY IMPORTANT NOTE - Westminster MOMS Club is NUT FREE! Our club is now a nut free club, including coconuts. Several children of our members have nut allergies, so we have made the decision to make our club nut free. This may be hard at times particularly as PB&J sandwiches are extremely popular , but this is a life threatening situation for this family so we hope you will understand and support us with this decision. Service Project - Ronald McDonald House Our service project for Ronald McDonald House was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who contributed. Below is the thank you we received from them: "Dear Westminster Moms Group, The Denver Ronald McDonald House and our families want to thank you for your generous recent donation. Each of the 31 families staying with us is far from home and has a critically ill or injured child in the hospital. They are so appreciative of the community support during this difficult time. Thank you for thinking of us! Sincerely Kaitlin Schneider - operations co-ordinator" MOMS Club Support groups The International MOMS Club has recently started up several online support groups to allow members with similar interests and struggles to come together and share information with each other. These are available to all MOMS Club members. Contact Kathleen if you're interested in joining them. At this time the following groups are available: 1. Deployed Spouses - specifically for Mothers who have a spouse that is currently deployed overseas. 2. Autism Support - for Mothers that are raising a child with autism or an autism spectrum disorder. 3. Preemie Support - for Mothers that have had a premature baby. 4. Adoption Support - for MOMS Club members with adopted children. 5. Postpartum Depression - for MOMS Club members dealing with Postpartum Depression. 6. Allergy Support - for MOMS Club members dealing with severe allergies in their families. 7. Disabilities and Special Needs Support - for MOMS Club members raising children with Disabilities or Special Needs other than Autism. 8. Infertility and Pregnancy Loss - for MOMS Club members dealing with infertility and pregnancy loss. 9. Loss Support - for MOMS Club members dealing with the loss of a family member. 10. Cancer Support - for MOMS Club members dealing with cancer in themselves or their family. 11. Breastfeeding Support - offering breastfeeding support to MOMS Club members. 12. Moms of Teens - for MOMS Club members raising teenagers. Playgroups Playgroups meet throughout the week and are organized by age. They are a great outlet for both moms and kids, so if you would like to join one, please contact our Membership VP. Playgroups are encouraged to attend calendar activities as a group when they are scheduled during their normal meeting hours. WANTED – Recipe Club Hosts Recipe Club is looking for members to host from this month on. You can limit the number of moms or kids that attend, as well as pick the day, time and food theme for the month. If interested, contact Kathleen. Make This Club Yours! Email any board member by the first Friday of the month with suggestions for outings, events, and parks so that it can get on the calendar right away. Newsletter/Website Submissions We are proud of our membership and encourage all to contribute to the newsletter and website. Any MOMS Club policies will be clearly identified. Additionally, members of MOMS Club can advertise in the newsletter for $1/month and non-members can do so for $5/month. Please contact the board with interest or questions. Helping Hands We want to remind you that we have a wonderful resource available for you and your family. Any MOMS Club member is welcome to call upon Helping Hands whenever she could benefit from some assistance. If you need meals prepared, childcare, housekeeping, etc, there is assistance available. Newsletter Advertising Members of MOMS Club can place an ad in the newsletter for $1 per month. Non-members of the group can advertise for $5 a month. If you are interested in advertising, contact the Board. |
