Mithril the Precious
Appearing in Who's Who in Poetry, 2004

by Laurel A. Rockefeller

She flies on wings full of light
A bird, a cockatiel feathered in white
Rare as the “Moria silver” whose name she bears
Mithril is special, precious beyond compare.
Gets in trouble every way she can
No one can resist her birdy charms, woman or man.
All it takes is one glimpse of her in flight
You’re never the same after, by day or night.
Little birdy you are precious, precious by far.
For me, you are great Elbereth’s birdy star.
