Ask any English teacher and she'll say that the best way to learn the craft of writing is to practice it, to write constantly. Laurel A. Rockefeller's passion has always been writing. While peers basked in the sun during summers off from school, she sat at her brother's Apple IIe and wrote novels, a total of seven before the age of 17. That tradition of writing books has carried through into Ms. Rockefeller's adult life. Herein are some excerpts of current works in progress and under development:

Novels

The Legend of Feng Huang:

The Legend of Feng Huang is a familiar story to Chinese of all ages. In the original Chinese, it is a very short story poetically rendered. In this novelization, Feng Huang, the Phoenix, is transformed into a living, breathing Dragonness who helps foster the Earth Colony and shapes the history of the new species, Human, as it comes onto the scene. When Darkness falls at the hands of a sinister dragonness, it is up to Feng Huang to rescue Humanity from madness and self annihilation and set human history back onto a track towards peace and prosperity with all living creatures.

Diary of the Goddess

A unique story encompassing the entire history of Time, the Diary is written in two parts: a memoir of the Goddess and a diary that recollects step by steps the events following the original record and ending with the moment before the end of Time.
