In 1993, soc.culture.weddings was THE PLACE online to be if you were interested in the topics of weddings--either as a bride or as a novice consultant and fashion designer like Laurel A. Rockefeller. The lessons learned and taught to others became the backbone of the huge FAQ section that appeared on whitejade.com and the other White Jade websites. This site provides only a small sample of those that originally appeared from 1994 to 2003. Did you know?
Hoopskirts are often far easier to manage during the course of a formal event than equivalent petticoats. The reason: a hoop can easily be grasped and sat in front of. Petticoats, however, require considerable more effort to sit without crushing them. A hoopskirt actually helps encourage proper posture while sitting, making sure the lady wearing it sits slightly forward from the chair and with feet squarely on the floor.
