Beltane Beltane is the second most important festival of the year. This is the time when we celebrate marriage or "handfasting". There are many traditions when it comes to Beltane such as; the Maypole, Handfasting, Bonfires. Beltane Colors are: Bright red and silver for the Goddess and Green and gold for the God ~or~ Blue and gold for the Goddess and red and gold for the God. Traditional foods are: Roast pork, homemade apple sauce. Spring vegetables and herbs. Red fruits such as cherries and strawberries. Red or pink wine punch. Mead. Large round oatmeal or barley cakes known as Beltane Cakes. Or you can use this time to create a modern feast such as a picnic, the first outside feast of the year, and serve things like Pulled BBQ Pork sandwiches made on homemade buns and fresh fruits and a fresh salad with a nice pink punch.
