With a Fee based Hosted web site, you have your own personal domain name. Having your own domain name gives you several advantages over sites that are free hosted.
An example of a domain name is " www.yourname.com ".
An example of a Free Hosted site is " www.oocities.org/yourname ", "www.angelfire.com/yourname".
Some of the advantages of Hosted sites verses Free Host
Having your web pages on pay hosted service gives the web site owner more visibilty. Making it easier for people to find your site and see the infomation you want them to know. To see what it is you have to offer.
It also allows your viewers to see only what you want them to see. There are no "pop-up" windows, no advertisements trying to direct traffic "away" from your site.
There also can be more options and features available and more space allowed for your site.
Look at a web site in terms of being a book. The book title is the same as your domain name. Think about what size book you will need, and the type of content you want in it.
For example: Putting aside the cover. A paperback book, is small and light. Possibly some small drawings, or images that are simple black and white printed"copies" and not actual photographs or prints. A hard cover book will be heavier do to the type of paper and ink that is used. Color images, or actual photographs, prints will wieght more.
The size of a web sites is measured not so much term of how many pages it has, but the size , memory used (wieght) of the content. It is often easier to relate In terms of wieght, like a book some content will wieght more. Music, A photo, or graphic image is heavier then what text is. Site Hosting
We do not "Host" sites at WildPony Graphics. We build the pages for your Book, The Host is "What Shelf, you put your book on".
If you choose a fee based hosted Web Site, they are paid for by the site owner, normally on a monthly or annual basis.
When we maintain your site for you on a pay host, you will be responsible for payment to the hosting company directly. The hosting fee will be in addition and seperate from our maintance fee.
