A Calm and Quiet Soul | ||||||||||||
One of the psalms that David wrote really touched me recently, so I thought I would share it. It is a psalm about simple faith... LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, Nor with things too profound for me. Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, Like a weaned child with his mother; Like a weaned child is my soul within me. O Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and forever. Psalm 131 If we desire a calm and quiet soul, we should humble ourselves and have simple childlike faith in Almighty God. We needn't worry about things that are bigger than us and things that we can't control. Neither should we be anxious about things that we don't understand. We need only to curl up in God's loving arms and put our hope in Him. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it. Mark 10:15 |
