Martin was the son of Gottlieb Rose and Maria (Barbary). The Rose family came from Bingen, Germany. The name was probably "Rouse". Martin was in the Revolutionary War. generation 5...Charles Rose Harper: b. 1824 in Missiouri (d. 1889) He married Susan Bain: b. SEPT. 1837 (d. 1905) (she was the daughter of Lindsey Bain and Sidney McHenry) generation 6....Charles Lee Harper b. August 1857 Desoto Parish, LA, ( d. August 15, 1928), married Frances Roberta Gause b. Nov. 13, 1863 born in Desoto Parish, LA.
