A. Henry Roberts
b. 31 DEC 1880 in CA
Most of my grandfather's life has been a mystry to us.
He was born in (Stocton?) California on Dec. 31, 1880 and died in April of 1940.
Grandpa had one brother who died about 10 yrs. old. The story was that his father was cutting down trees to make a log cabin. The young boy was way up in the top of the tree hiding. We think he just may have wanted to ride the tree down. Grandpa's only sibling died when he (and the tree) hit the ground.
We don't even know his father's first name, but his mother was Sara Robbins.
Sara was born on Jan.. 1, 1861. She married a Roberts, and later a Chandler.
She passed away in 1937.
Alfred Henry Roberts married twice.
We don't know much about his first marriage, except that he had two children. A little girl and a little boy.. The little girl died at about 7 years old in an automobile accident. The young boy grew up and lived in San Fransisco, CA. (this is what mom remembers being told).
We never new his first son. Mom has always wanted to meet her half brother.
About 1922 A. "Henry" MARRIED again;
this time to grandma (Elsie Mable Crosby-Uhrich).
She was also devorced and left with three children.
Elsie and Henry were married and soon had two children of their own, also.
Roy Alfred Roberts and Etta May Roberts.
Next is a family group picture on July 4th 1931
