Life Put on Pause with M.E. (pdf file)
A WORCESTER ME sufferer has spoken of the debilitating effects the illness has had on his once active life and the problems facing sufferers, following the recent ME Awareness Week. ... May 2006.

A Day in the Life of …... Nicola Winnall” (Word file)
written for M.E. Awareness Week 2005

Rosemary Winnall, Nikki’s mother and carer, told the Worcestershire M.E. Support Group:“Nikki has been writing this over the last two months to get it ready for ME Awareness Week.
I do feel it is important for the Severe ME sufferers to have a voice.

We are hoping that there will be more research into the illness of M.E.  Also there seems to be a need for categorising the illness into several different types.  There should be earlier diagnosis and clearer understanding about how to help sufferers.  We hope and pray that this happens soon.” (Also available from

Worcestershire Royal Hospital - ‘equality of access’ committee
A committee has been set up specifically to ensure equality of access for all services at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.  This concerns all of the hospital’s patients regardless of age, race, physical or mental ability.  The committee hopes to ensure that all of the hospital’s services are easily accessible to all patients.  Issues so far have included wheelchair access, disability awareness training, and organising communication tools for patients with learning disabilities.

This ‘equality of access’ committee invites us to forward any particular suggestions from our members.  Please send your topics to Jill Pigott at
worcsmegroup@yahoo.co.uk.
