1. Read items 2 - 7 on the EBHC2 page if you have not read it last week. In particular, look at how to search for University Doctorate and Master theses from the last item of the Effective search for evidence page, as it features in the short answer questions of the assignment. Let me know when we meet if you have problems searching for theses.


2. Read the following paper on decision analysis:-

Elwyn G, Edwards A, Eccles M, Rovner D. Decison analysis in patient care. Lancet 2001; 358: 571 - 574.


3. Read the following papers introducing decision analysis:-

Scott Richardson W, Detsky AS How to Use a Clinical Decision Analysis JAMA1995 26;273(16):1292-1295


4. Appraise the validity of the following decision analysis paper using the appraisal tool given in the box on the left upper hand corner of p. 1293 of the above paper.
