| THE WRESTLING REPORT 05/26/02 SHAWN KNEW ALL ALONG Last night WWE presented their first episode of CONFIDENTIAL with host Mean Gene Okerland. In it we were treated with an interview with the HeartBreak Kid Shawn Michaels. When asked about the Montreal screw job and if he knew about it he said, "Yes." This is the first official answer to that question that I know of and it says a lot. On one hand it does not surprise me too much but on the other I must say that when I watch the video of that moment Shawn seems more surprised than Bret does when the bell is rung. Give the guy the academy award for that performance! Now will people chant "You screwed Bret!" to Michaels whenever he is in a Canadian ring instead of poor old Earl Hebner? It was also disclosed that Gerald Brisco also knew of the plan but that seems to be it. According to Brisco, Pat Patterson did not know about the plan to screw Bret. Well when I say "screw Bret" I don't mean to say that I support his claim totally in that he WAS screwed but to take his side a little I would have to say that he was treated poorly for his dedication and loyalty to the company and to have him lose the title on a different night would not have been too much to ask.
