Games We Play
World's Worst...
For this game all the players line up in a row. The director then gets suggestions from the audience. These suggestions range from occupations to household products to things that one might say. The players then step forward and attempt to give the world worst example of that suggestion. Examples might include World's Worst Astronaut, ("Hi! I'm Lance Bass of N'Sync.) to the Worlds Worst way to propose marriage (Hey, if you're not doing anything in 10 minutes...)
Freeze Tag or Blind Freeze
This game starts out with two players onstage. They are given a scene by audience suggestion (Usally a non-geographic location and a relationship bewteen them) and attempt to play it out. At anytime during the scene any other player can call "Freeze." They then run onstage and replace a player of their choice then bein an entirely different scene. This pattern repeats itself until a logical conclusion is reached. On slight variation on this game is that as the scene progress the non-playing players stand looking away from the action, thus blind to the scene. They then randomly call freeze.
Wierd Newscasters
For this game there are four players. Two are the anchors of a news program with the other tow players the sports anchor and weatherman respectively. Then one anchor, the sports anchor and the weatherman are given strange characteristics while the remaining anchor is the "straight man." The characteristics are gathered from audience suggestions and range from, the weatherman is a werewolf and the sports anchor is Elvis to the co-anchor has a hair fetish or is secretly in love with the cameraman.
Late For Work
This is a guessing game involving four players. One is the "late" worker, one is the boss and the other two are co-workers. The game is set up by asking the "late" worker to leave. The audience then gives three reasons why the worker is late. The "late" worker returns and a scene is begun by the boss reprimanding the "late" worker. The worker ties to explain why he is late, yet he doesn't know. It is up to the two co-workers to pantamime the reasons behind the bosses back as the "late" worker attempts to guess why he is late. Once the player has guessed all the the game ends. Suggestions for why the worker is late range from "Car trouble," to "beaten up and mugged by the Easter Bunny."
Good, Bad and Worst Advice
This game is requires three players, a panel of experts. Questions are then gathered from the audience and the three players attempt to answer the questions, with one player despensing good advice, one player giving bad advice and the last player giving the worst advice possible.
Your Place or Mine
Another guessing game with only two players. While one player is waiting outside the theater the other is given a specific location that they are in. (Laundromat, for example.) Then the players switch and as the first one waits the other player is given a completely different location. (Maternity Ward) Then both players begin a scene together with each believeing that they are in a different place. With out specifically mentioning where they are they must interact and give clues to the other player about thier location. After a short time the game scene is stopped and the two players attempt to guess where the other player was.
