The Workshops are designed to teach something new to both jugglers and non-jugglers alike. If the workshop is not denoted as "non-juggler" it is assumed that everyone taking it has a basic understanding of the topic at hand. Limited equipment may be available for each workshop, so if you're interested in learning a new prop, show up at the workshop, and we'll see what we can do.

Workshop Descriptions

3-ball Juggling for Non-Jugglers Non-stop Workshop (Every minute the gym is open)
A fun way to learn to juggle, this "workshop" is designed for those who do not know the basic three-ball pattern. Starting with one ball, moving on to two, and then adding a third will seem easy under the skilled instruction of the festival staff. This workshop will have anyone up-and-juggling in no time!

Look for the Non-stop Workshop sign located near the registration table.

Devil Stick
For jugglers looking to branch out, the Devil Stick is a logical choice. This workshop will help you get started with the basics or, if you've got those down, teach you a trick or two to add to your repertoire.

3-club Tricks
For those jugglers who have gained complete control over the 3-club cascade and are ready for some tricks, this workshop is the next step.

3-ball Tricks
For those jugglers who have gained complete control over the cascade and are ready for some tricks, this workshop is the next step. By exploring different throwing and catching positions, participants will learn several classic tricks as well as how to build their own, NEW tricks. Topics covered may include the shower, tennis, box, Mills Mess, Burke's Barrage, Rubenstein's Revenge and the ever-popular neck catch.

Beginning 3-club Juggling
Assuming you've gained control of the 3-ball cascade, Adam wants to teach you to juggle clubs. Starting with flipping a single club and progressing to the two-club exchange, you will be building the foundation for the 3-club cascade through a series of exercises, drills, and practice techniques.

Beginning Club Passing
Assuming you've gained control of the 3-club cascade, we want to teach you to pass clubs. This workshop will show you the basics of passing on counts and teach you exercises that will make the comment "Don't throw things at people" lose its meaning completely.

Beginning Diabolo
If you've never diaboloed before, if you're just starting to diabolo, or if you just want to find out what the heck a diabolo is, this is the workshop for you. This workshop will start with the basics of getting the diabolo started and progress through accelerations, corrections, and some beginning tricks.

Advanced Ball Passing

You do the math.

Advanced Diabolo Tricks
This workshop teaches diabolo sequences that will impress even the seasoned diaboloist. You will learn techniques for blending one trick into another to really push your routine to the next level. If you need help with a certain trick, or even if you are a beginner wanting to see what is possible, Diabolo Josh will do his best to help you with your diabolo manipulations.

Multiple diabolo work will also be covered for those interested.

Contact Juggling (tentative)
Here's your chance to try something a little different. Here you can learn the basics and a few tricks in which the ball you choose will not leave your skin. This graceful art of object manipulation will remind you of the movie Labyrinth when you learn palm spinning, butterfly, stalls, arm rolls, and various circles.

Workshops subject to change.
