Last Comic Standing is in frozen Minnesota in search of hot comedy. Talent scouts Kate Flannery and Brian Baumgartner from NBC's "The Office" are tasked with finding the funniest of the freezing candidates. Pete Lee kicks off the event and snags a spot in the evening showcase. The following acts leave the judges flat. Brian is visibly relieved when Doug Mellard and funny man Dan Cummins hit humor homeruns and land places in the night's showcase.

The Amazing Arthur fails to amaze, but hot single mom Darlene Westgore garners the giggles and makes the cut. Sadly, Kate's advice to figure out the science of short and sweet and get right to it proves too academic for the comics who follow. Tim Harmston, a bright light among the dim bulbs, puts the judges in a good mood. Carl Lee follows him into the showcase with a side-slapping routine and snappy timing.

Judges Kate and Brian are impressed with the level of talent in Minneapolis. The curtains rise as Tim Harmston opens, but he doesn't wow the crowd. Baby-faced Dave Landau does better, and Tracey Ashley continues to court the chuckles. Bringing his best game, Alex Thomas gets a nod from the crowd and Dan Cummins has the house in hysterics.

The comedy is hot, hot, hot, as Carl Lee and Darlene Westgore get the crowd roaring. Backstage, Doug Miller is plotting his comedic world domination but unfortunately, his act doesn't live up to his hype. John Evans revives the laughs before Pete Lee's self-depreciating act scores big numbers with the audience. The night comes to an end as the semi-finalists are announced. Pete Lee, John Evans and Dan Cummins will be heading to Las Vegas.

Last Comic Standing looks for some southern comfort in Nashville. Comedy faves John Ratzenberger and George Wendt of "Cheers" are tapped for judging duty. Truit "Killer Bees" Beazly hits the stage and is given a nod from the talent scouts. The comics who follow don't fare so well. The judges ponder the oddballs before them. But Mary Mack saves the day with her goofy view of the world, and Heath Hyche has the judges in stitches. Both make it into the evening showcase.

He came. He sang. He conquered the laughs. Local favorite Pat Godwin snags a place in the evening showcase. The same can't be said for the dancing duo that follows. Their performance leaves George sighing, "I don't like this job." Knowing there's no case like the showcase, ventriloquist Taylor Mason celebrates when he makes the cut. So do Erin Jackson, Drew Thomas and Dale Cummins.

The night opens with Pat Godwin, who brings tears of laughter to the eyes of the crowd. Erin Jackson follows and cashes in on the audience's amused state, while Jason Weems does the hard work to build the crowd's laugh momentum again. Ventriloquist Taylor Mason brings home the bacon with his dummy pig. Heath Hyche performs with his own soundtrack and wows the crowd with his moves.

The comics are firing with all cylinders as Drew Thomas guides the audience through his views on marriage. Satirical Sabrina Matthews follows and "Killer Bees" tickles the fancy of the crowd with his southern style. She might be small, but comedienne Mary Mack packs a big punch when it comes to humor. The crowd is ready and waiting as Dale Jones takes the stage by storm. His act has them rolling in the aisles laughing as he closes the showcase.

It's that time again. The comics assemble as the semi-finalists are announced: Heath Hyche, Erin Jackson and Mary Mack make the cut, and Bill Bellamy reveals there is one last name on his list. It's Dale Jones! These four stand-out comics will now be heading to Las Vegas for the semi-finals. Enjoy the laughs and check out Dale Jones side-splitting routine in this week's video highlight!
