3 months since the walk...

Thank you for all your support and wishes.  It fills me with pride to know how kind and generous people can be.  I have learned that I can do anything with the help of the people who love me.  Here are the final tallies:

                     Fundraising:
$2180.00

Walking: 60 miles

This was the hardest and most rewarding thing I have ever done with my life.  I could not have done it without each person who sent me a donation or a good luck.  But, I did it.  And I am a better person for it.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
This event is a 60-mile walk from Kenosha, WI to Chicago, IL over the course of three days beginning on June 14 of this year.  My goal is to raise $1,900 for Avon's Breast Cancer Crusade, an initiative committed to helping women with undetected breast cancer find out early enough to survive.  You can get more information by clicking on the links at the top and bottom of this page.

I am participating in this walk for several reasons...

I am a woman.

*  I have a mother.  The weekend of the walk is my mother's 50th birthday.  Since I am not going     to be able to be with her on such an important day, this is my gift to her.

*   I  want to do my part to help save lives,
even people that I know. Those who have beat this
disease and those who have lost the battle.
Everyone hopes that they are never touched by a
disease like this, but so many people are.

*   I look and feel better.  The training is doing wonders for my self-esteem and my rear-end.  ;)
