This event is a 60-mile walk from Kenosha, WI to Chicago, IL over the course of three days beginning on June 14 of this year. My goal is to raise $1,900 for Avon's Breast Cancer Crusade, an initiative committed to helping women with undetected breast cancer find out early enough to survive. I am participating in this walk for several reasons...
* I am a woman.
* I have a mother. The weekend of the walk is my mother's 50th birthday. Since I am not going to be able to be with her on such an important day, this is my gift to her.
* I want to do my part to help save lives, even people that I know. Those who have beat this
disease and those who have lost the battle. Everyone hopes that they are never touched by a
disease like this, but so many people are.
* I look and feel better. The training is doing wonders for my self-esteem and my rear-end. ;) |
