Tray Mod for Disc Brakes

I still love this system, but I hit a new glitch.   If your bike has disc brakes, you may not be able to lock them down.  This applies to a few bikes as I found out, because my bud's  Cannondale fit on without a problem  last season.

If you look closely, you'll notice the side of my tray now has a notch to it, the reason is obvious in the pics below.

As you can see, the cylinder for the disc brakes would not allow me to seat my forks into the skewers.  I traced the shape onto the side of the tray, and cut into it with a cutting wheel on my dremel.  I cut out less than I needed, then using a sanding wheel on the dremel, I filed out the little more, to give about 1/8" more than the cylinder all around, and rounded out all the corners. All together, I cut out approx 1/4" x 1" notch into the side of the tray.  I re-installed everthing, and tested it be rocking my X back and forth, grabbing it by the bike fork.  No flex in the trays, nor with the mounts were notice. From what I gather from Yak's site.. this area on the new trays will be tapered back, and won't have the tall side rail behind the skewer. Again.. this is not an approved method.. just something I did to make it fit.
