Upon reaching the cave behind a waterfall, Trika looked around. Seeing no one, she silently went through the water and smiled. The Haken greeted her warmly and gently nuzzled her beautiful egg. Trika grinned at the same time as her follower, Captain Lombard, only his was a grin of maliciousness. After covering her egg in leaves, the Haken mother wandered off, leaving Trika to care for it while she fed. |
The Haken's Egg (Part 2) |
Captain Lombard stepped out from behind his rock and waved his silver sword in front of him. He laughed and said "hand over the egg, sweets, or else." "NEVER!" Trika's eyes flashed in anger at the threat but backed up to protect it. The mother would be gone for about 5-10 minutes, but how long could she hold out? "I will never hand this egg over to anyone but the Haken's mother." |
The captain's patience was beginning to run out. "fine, then we shall duel over it." Lombard flashed his sword and came running at the girl, but he stopped and stared in amazement...she was glowing! All of a sudden, Trika's face turned to his and her staff flew out of her hands, parallel to the moon. It glowed and struck out a flash of lightning towards the captain, which slashed him in the stomach. The Haken mother, seeing the flash, came running. |
The captain could have gone on longer, though pain was itching at his side, but when he saw the mother coming he fled for his life! He didn't want to make her angry! Just as he was about to jump off the cliff onto his boat, he shouted, "I'll be back, girl...you can count on it." The Haken mother sighed a breath of relief. She spoke, clearly and softly. "My dear, you have saved one of my own. I will have many more eggs, but none like this one. I am giving it to you, to care for, and love. Keep it safe, and free from harm." With this, the Haken disappeared, leaving only a confused girl, an egg and a newfound relationship. |

Time passed, and Trika took good care of the egg. One day, while she was keeping it warm by a fire, it hatched! a sweet little Haken popped out and came toward her, thinking she was his mother. "oh, how sweet!" Trika cried and picked the hatchling up. "I believe that I will name you Brechin. And so, little Brechin was hatched, and he was a bright, curious, and mischeivous hatchling...and his real mother visited often, though he never knew her as who she really was. |

After much time passed, the beautiful hatchling grew...and grew and grew! He sprouted legs and was able to walk. One day, Trika was walking with him in the forest when they met an angry cougar, who leaped at them. Brechin used his Amazon powers to control the forest! He drove off the cougar and Trika was amazed. She also knows soon his powers will be unlimited... |

***Amazon: A power that allows the Haken to use the Forest at it's will, in order to protect it's bondmate and itself. They can only do this for a period of time, but as Adults, they may do this for as long as they like. Amazon is a mix of leaves, tree's, anything in the forest around it. They may use this power to throw their enemies away, or even kill them if need be. |
Time passed yet once more. Brechin was now an adult, but he ate some berries and got extremely sick. Trika did not realize this and soon his sickness wore on and on, until he almost died. Brechin was very sickly but just at the last moment, he was given healing powers and he gained his strength yet again. "I shall never be so careless EVER again!" Trika cried as she hugged Brechin tightly. The two sat together and talked of better times. |
One day, Captain Lombard came back. Trika knew he would....he threatened to do so. That night, he was sneaking up on Trika when Brechin saw him and used his ultimate power: Amazon! Brechin knew that if he let the pirate go, he would return yet once more. As his power stopped, the Captain fell to the ground, never to harm another beast again, and Brechin was from then on loved and honored in the forest, for his wonderful deed. |
