Upon enrolling in Dr. Glave's class we were told that we would be required to build a webpage.  Not having any prior experience with this type of technology, I was very excited.  I had assumed that it would be a fairly easy project and that I would be able to finish it quickly.  However, as soon as we began working on it, I realized that this would not be the case.  This webpage was more time-consuming than I ever could have imagined.  I had no idea how much work goes into creating a webpage, let alone any additional work needed for upkeep of the site.  The biggest obstacle I had to overcome would be the fact that my paper and my webpage were not regarding the same topic.  Because of this, I had to do twice as much research, as well as worry about two huge projects at the same time.
From this topic, I have learned that Bessie Coleman, and essentially all African American women, had specific obstacles to overcome in their lives.  Coleman had the drive and desire to go against the grain and be who/what she wanted to be and for that, I find her to be an amazing woman.  To go as far as attending aviator school in France, Coleman sets the standard for dedication and asiprations.

My recommendations to others planning to build a webpage:

1. Choose an interesting topic - I cannot imagine having to make an entire webpage dedicated to a topic which I was not interested in.
2.  Realize that this project is going to take a lot longer than you would thing and budget your time accordingly.
3.  Before you decide that your entire webpage should use a specific font or color, remember that you will have to format every single webpage to be consistent.
4.  Do your research early - This has been one of the most expensive projects I've ever done because of over-due library books.
5.  Have someone else look over your webpage.  Had it not been for the help of my mom and grandma, I would have looked over numerous spelling errors throughout the site.
6.  Most importantly, have fun with this project.  Although it is time consuming, it feels amazing to have it completed, ready for the world to see.
