| The Selvedges are a group of contemporary textile artists who have spent three years together studying for the Diploma of Arts, Studio Stitch/Textiles at Box Hill Institution of TAFE which we completed in 2003. Our group name evolves images of interwined threads creating a strong fabric which we see as representing the support and encouragement of peers and mentors whilst, at the same time each thread continues to explore a separate path to unique creative expression. Our current exhibtion "Just for me" suggests different things to each of us. For instance, the culture we live in, communication, technology and aspects of the natural environment. It will feature a versatile range of original textile design in both wearable and decorative art. |
