My interest in textiles first began at age seven or eight when I taught myself to crochet. I have always had a fascination with yarns and threads and their colours and textures. I started knitting in my teens and was then introduced to needlepoint canvas work and cross stitch. All of these still remain my main passions.
Most of my work touches on fantasy and medieval themes. I get my inspiration from novels, pictures, music and movies - I like to be taken away to other worlds and times.
In 1999 I started a small business called "CrossPatch Creations" in partnership with my sister who specialises in patchwork. We combine cross stitch and patchwork in original designs and produce kits and patterns of our works.
