My eternal passion has been my ability to express my creativity throughout artistic media. In my youth I acquired the dexterity to knitting, crocheting and doing cross-stitch. Numerous gratifying hours were expended undertaking these leisurely activities resulting in the creation of gifts for friends and family.
I enjoy exploring the elemental complexity of texture, colour and aesthetic gratification, whilst experimenting with the many varying perplexities of my creations.
For this exhibition, I have attempted to translate the societal inequality of the enforced discrimination, suppression, oppression and depreciation of women as a direct result of male domination into a journey of discovering personal freedom, spirituality and harmony.
I preferentially utilize natural fibres, and this is displayed in my creations. Ornamentation of my work, through the use of dye, paint, beads and hand stitching, are elements, which deliver an enhancement and increased enjoyment to the process and creation of my work.
