When it comes to being cool, Lee and Miltinnie set the standard.
Coolness
Back in the 60's, Lee and Miltinnie were hip in platforms, bell-bottoms, and square glasses. Sure enough, those came back at the end of the 90's. They owned all the coolest records, such as the Beatles, Credence Clearwater, Elvis, and Santana. Lee was a surfin', ukelele-strummin' beach boy from Hawaii while Miltinnie was a long-haired beauty from the revered Stanford University. In the 70's, they were the first on the block to own a brand new PC (Osborne) and a VCR. In the 80's, Miltinnie donned the latest big perm. In the 90's, Lee was outstanding in the field that everyone wanted to work in -- investment banking. Both were also top-of-the-list Christian conference speakers for audiences of all ages.
Miltinnie is a published writer! She has co-authored a Bible study guide with Phyllis Stanley entitled, "Celebrate the Seasons" and she is also one of the contributing authors for the NKJV Women's Study Bible.
One big point on Lee's coolness resume is the fact that he is a cardshark in almost every card game imaginable, especially Poker and Hearts. He also invented a new card game called Gang of Four that has fans all over the world. Particular enclaves of die-hard fans can be found in Hong Kong, Canada, Australia, Sweden, Iowa, and the U.S. Navy.
In the eyes of their hip children, they are also considered on the cutting edge of 'cool', even as parents. They rollerblade, ski, have cellphones and palm pilots, play the latest DVDs, take the best vacations, and are able to be buddies with a wide variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
Both have spoken for numerous audiences on different occasions and have gained admiration and respect from teenage groups, young adults groups, newly-weds, parents, and elderly alike. What especially makes them cool in their children's eyes is their ability to relate to their children's peers.
