Mission |
||||||||||||||||||
In 1979, the Lord called Lee and Mitinnie to serve Him in ministry. For training, Lee enrolled at Dallas Theological Seminary and moved the whole family of 5 to Dallas, Texas. After 4 years of studying the Word and majoring in Christian Education, Lee was prepared to serve as a full-time pastor. However, during his senior year, he was given the opportunity to meet a man named Walt Henrichsen who changed his life. So intrigued by this man's wisdom and by his discipleship of men that Lee moved his family to Colorado Springs to spend a year with him. |

It was there that Lee and Miltinnie began to realize their potential for the lay ministry. This was also when the Lord laid in their hearts to reach out to China. With professional background in investment banking, Lee felt that lay ministry to businessmen in particular was a better fit for him than the pastorate. In 1985, the family packed all their bags and belongings again. This time, they were going further than they ever had ventured, far away from family and friends, to Chinese businessmen central -- Hong Kong. There, they would have 12 years to gain headway for the Lord before Hong Kong would revert back to mainland China. |

For 15 years now, both Lee and Miltinnie have made significant waves in Hong Kong's spiritual dimension. Although Hong Kong's physical materialism dominates every inch of the island, it is still not hard to see the spiritual impact underlying all they have come into contact with. Many people have accepted Jesus Christ as personal Savior on account of Lee and Miltinnie. Whether it is through their direct testimonies, their wise teachings, their life examples, their selfless caring, or their warm hospitality, many Christians have been encouraged and touched by them. Read one such letter that Miltinnie wrote to encourage a friend. In it, she writes of her struggles and convictions about wearing a hat and reading the Word as scriptural authority. Both Lee and Miltinnie use every opportunity to share their faith. For instance, read Lee's essay submitted to this year's Stanford Business School reunion book. |
